Batteries used in electric golf carts.

Electric golf carts primarily use two types of batteries: lead-acid batteries and lithium-ion batteries.

Lithium-ion batteries last longer compared to lead-acid batteries. Lithium-ion batteries charge in a short time, while lead-acid batteries require a long time to charge.

Lithium-ion batteries have a long life cycle, allowing them to charge and discharge numerous times without exhibiting defects or problems.

Consequently, a lithium-ion battery is more expensive than a lead-acid battery.

Before deciding on the best battery type, companies check the buyers’ budget and their cart usage.

The most common question asked about golf carts is, “How far does a golf cart go on a full battery charge?”

It totally depends on the type of battery used in any cart. Generally, a lead-acid battery operating a golf cart can run up to 50-60 km on a full charge. On the other hand, lithium-ion batteries can run up to 70-80 km on a full charge.

Seater Options Available in Golf Carts

Golf carts have different seating choices. They range from 2-seaters to 8-seaters, meeting various needs.

The 2-seater golf carts are the most common choice. They’re great for individual golfers, couples, or small personal use.

4-seater and 6-seater golf carts provide extra space. They are popular in places like residential communities, resorts, campgrounds, and hotels. These models help groups travel together with convenience.

Also, 6-seater carts usually have extra storage or folding rear seats. This makes them great for carrying people, luggage, or gear.

8-seater golf carts provide maximum seating capacity while maintaining safety and convenience. These are great for resorts, airports, universities, and event venues. They help with group transport over short distances.

Manufacturers can make custom golf carts to meet specific needs, along with standard models.
